The Viking Range Corporation, founded in 1987 by Fred Carl, Jr. in Greenwood, Mississippi, originated commercial type cooking appliances for the home. In 2013 The Mittleby Corporation, the largest commercial equipment manufacturer in the world, acquired the Viking Range Corporation. Today it manufactures both residential and commercial kitchen appliances. Its domestic appliances include those for cooking, ventilation, refrigeration and kitchen clean-up as well as various outdoor appliances. It also offers cookware, cutlery and small electric appliances. The commercial line of appliances includes appliances for restaurants and other business-related kitchens.
Cooking products include freestanding ranges, rangetops, cooktops and ovens. Viking also manufactures dishwashers. A variety of ventilation devices such as wall, chimney wall and island hoods are available as well as custom ventilation systems, rear downdrafts and hood and ventilator packages. Built-in refrigeration, freestanding refrigerators, wine cellars and undercounter refrigerators are available. For outdoor cooking they manufacture a variety of grills, hoods for ventilation and refrigerators. Carts and cabinets complete the outdoor kitchen. Viking also makes dishwashers.
